Salute,
Announcing my 4th Annual Italy Retreat for Women to Live La Dolce Vita, the sweet life!
I would be honored to be your travel guide and workshop leader for my 4th Annual Italy Retreat for Women to Live La Dolce Vita, the 'sweet life', Thursday September 13 through Saturday, September 22, 2012.
The Retreat is just for women (but that may change someday), but for now, you can share this offer with the women in your life.
Explore the Italian Riviera, reside in the lovely Cinque Terre town of Monterosso and Lucca in Tuscany, while transforming your life: Enhance happiness, dissolve those limiting beliefs and live 'the sweet life' wherever you are.
‘The Sweet Life’, la dolce vita, is all about enjoying an enriched life, changing limiting beliefs, and living a happier life. It is going on adventures, making life at home sweeter, having fun with friends, cooking together, walking together, learning together –all in the spirit of la dolce vita. The ultimate la dolce vita experience is to come to Italy with me!
This adventure blends the best of both worlds. Your nine days in Italy includes two days of personal transformation workshop experience with seven days of excursions to beautiful Italian towns in paradise on the Mediterranean and Tuscany.

So, what a wonderful way for a woman to learn more about herself and her future by attending such an event! And, did you notice how Lenora has set up a business for herself that easily takes her into her future? Why would she ever retire from the opportunity of travel and empowerment of other women?

Many women who choose to work for themselves, like this Iowa entrepreneur, rather than to simply go to work for someone else, find themselves with a portable business in which they can work well into their retirements (like Lenora has done with her fascinating organization). Historically, entrepreneurship has been a male-dominated pursuit, but many of today's most memorable and inspirational entrepreneurs are women. Consider:

Mary Kay Ash, an outstanding business woman, was founder of Mary Kay Cosmetics, creating a business that helped some half a million women fulfill their dreams of business ownership. A best-selling author and powerful motivational speaker, Lifetime Television named her the Most Outstanding Woman in Business in the 20th Century.

Anita Roddick founded The Body Shop, a store that purchases outstanding natural ingredients for a line of cosmetics, helping the disadvantaged communities generate income and providing women with superb cosmetics.

Oprah Winfrey (my favorite woman in the world) is an American media proprietor, talk show host, actress, producer and philanthropist. Winfrey is best known for her self-titled, multi-award-winning talk show, which became the highest-rated program of its kind in history and was nationally syndicated from 1986 to 2011. She has been ranked the richest African American of the 20th century, the greatest black philanthropist in American history, and was for a time the world's only black billionaire. She is quite likely the most influential woman in the world. Winfrey was born into poverty in rural Mississippi to a teenage single mother and experienced considerable hardship during her childhood, claiming to be raped at age nine and becoming pregnant at 14; her son died in infancy. But she landed a job in radio while still in high school and began co-anchoring the local evening news at the age of 19 to eventually launch her own production company and become internationally syndicated.

Madame C. J. Walker - First Female African-American Millionaire, was the daughter of former slaves, orphaned at the age of seven. Walker built a thriving beauty products business in the early 20th century, eventually employing over 3,000 people. Her hard work, honest business dealings and quality products led her to become the first self-made female African-American millionaire.

Coco Chanel - As Bold and Distinctive as Her Signature Fragrance, Coco Chanel was one of the major innovators of 20th century fashion, introducing elements from menswear and sports apparel into women's fashion to create a distinctively simple, yet elegant style. Her signature fragrance, Chanel No. 5, was the first perfume to bear the designer's name. Launched in 1923, it is still one of the best-selling fragrances in the world.

Debbi Fields - Founder of Mrs. Fields Cookies. At age 20, Debbi Fields was a housewife with no business experience, but a great chocolate chip cookie recipe and a dream. Her husband was embarrassed because of a grammatical mistake she made in front of his boss. After a good cry, she build a business. Today, Mrs. Fields Cookies is one of the world's most recognizable dessert franchises, with over 600 stores in the U.S. and ten other countries.

Estée Lauder - This daughter of immigrants is the embodiment of the American Dream. She started out selling skin creams created by her uncle, but with persistence and personality, she worked her way into the cosmetics counters of department stores. She developed a personalized selling style that put her brand at the top of the industry, with a 45% share of the cosmetics market in U.S. department stores.

Oh, the list goes on. I would love to hear your additions to this list. Looking for your comments! Susan

  1. Thanks Susan for re-posting my email about my Italy Retreat for Women! I wanted to say grazie to you because you took me by the hand and offered to help me start that blog 3 years ago. Just celebrated my blog's 3 year anniversary. I've been doing life coaching and teaching workshops for over 20 years, but I'm always re-inventing myself. Also, like you helping me, it's important for entrepreneurs to find a 'support team' in whatever that looks like. It takes a village! Thanks for being part of my village.

  2. Thanks, Lenora. Your trip sounds so wonderful and I am truly impressed with what you are doing. You are so right -- it takes a village. Please keep me in the loop, and let us know more about the Italian venture. (BTW, I am amazed, so far, at how international this blog is becoming. We have new subscribers from Ireland, Russian, Germany and elsewhere. What a village!)
